sally hawkins (“the phantom menace”)

I was still in drama school. I don't have sisters, but I have an older brother who I love very much. But acting out stories, realising I could improvise, opened up a whole new world. [on what the chances are that she would fall in love with a real fish man:] I'd say, 10 in 10. Even if it's just for me, I find it relaxing and messy! [on the worst job she's done:] Waitressing - silver service. And I saw Ewan McGregor. And that's when things will change. Guillermo del Toro and I were doing an interview this morning and he had similar dreams - swimming underwater, being able to breathe. Sally Hawkins Never Watched Her "Star Wars" Performance. Bonnie Tyler, she's not uncool. She's incredible, and she's a theater actress as well. She's a character who you hope everyone will relate to and love. That purity of her soul was important. I find that very scary, that we have become more and more cynical. I'm bit of a hoarder so probably could open a little shop full of treasure and shiny, girly stuff. And I don't want to be, really. I'm half Irish. There has to be chemistry there. I would slip up a lot and empty plates of potatoes and gravy into customers' laps. She would garner another Academy Award nomination for starring as a mute cleaning woman in the American romantic supernatural film The Shape of Water (2017). He's incredibly precise and economical with his words. I don't have preferences, I just love working on a good script. It was one day many years ago. I am a real romantic. And sometimes he just lets you get on with it, and he steps away. It's true I had trouble with words. I just passed by him. Then we had time to just talk and unravel the script. Maybe it will dissolve as the clock strikes midnight and I'll be left standing in my pants. Maybe they were just lying. I think as an actor it's difficult because you want to disappear into roles, and the more people know you, the less you can do that. I don't really follow fashion. I love Woody Allen because you are there to work and do your job. [on what she thinks is the key to a happy marriage (October 2011):] Well if I was married, I'd be able to offer more insight. I was in a huge audience scene. [on Cate Blanchett, her co-star in Blue Jasmine (2013)]: I was very lucky with Cate. But is it good for me? She comes from that training and we had time together in New York to get to know each other. I was still in drama school. Happy, healthy, know you have a good life. .background- {text-align:center;background-color: #7A0013;} .total_rating_ {display:inline-block;color:#FFF;text-align:center;}.total_rating_ a ...and I have no idea where I fit in; I think I have one foot in one class, and then one foot in another through having a very nice education. Sally Hawkins. I'm not crippled with it, like some people. [on The Shape of Water (2017):] It's such a power in silence, and truth of heart, and also femininity, and that - like water, you know, it's able to sort of find its way, and... Yeah, I never think there's enough of that. Her breakout role, Hawkins would win several awards for her performance, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Mostly. A friend was working on it and got me in. He would not remember me. That intense focus really freaks me out. I admire him so much. [on whether she ever wishes she were given darker, edgier roles (September 2013):] I feel like I've done a lot of those as well, like in early Mike Leigh films. I am incredibly private.
